75 T&T nationals repatriated from St. Vincent
75 Trinidad and Tobago (T&T) nationals were successfully repatriated from St Vincent via the Galleons Passage. The MV Galleons Passage has returned to T&T from St. Vincent and the Grenadines following a trip to deliver emergency aid. The vessel docked at the Port of Port-of-Spain shortly before 7 am on Thursday.
260 tonnes of relief items collected by the ODPM were also successfully transported to Kingstown, St. Vincent via the Galleons Passage and a C26 Aircraft attached to the T&T Defence Force.
These included water, food essentials, sanitary supplies, tents, medical supplies, hygiene materials, cleaning supplies, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and other requested items such as water tanks and buckets.
On Wednesday night, while the repatriated citizens were boarding the vessel in St Vincent, Guardian Media was 170 nationals returning. However, on Thursday morning, immigration officers confirmed that only 75 nationals were repatriated.
According to the National Security Ministry, they arrived this morning and are currently under quarantine in accordance with COVID-19 protocols.
