A murder suspect from St. Croix has been extradited from Florida
28-year-old St Croix man has been detained and deported from Orlando, Florida, to face murder charges.
Guillermo Rivera, of the Aureo Diaz Heights housing community, faces a first-degree murder charge after he was accused of murdering Juan Velazquez and Miguel Ramos on April 17 at the Aureo Diaz Heights.
His bail was set at US$1,000,000.
He was unable to post bail, and the Virgin Islands Police Department turned him over to the Bureau of Corrections.
Sean Santos, Chief of Police in the St. Croix District, commended detectives for the arrest. “Our Criminal Investigation Bureau, led by Commander Lieutenant Naomi Joseph, stops at nothing to ensure perpetrators are brought to justice. We are still searching for Justin Nesbitt concerning this case. We are urging him to make arrangements to turn himself in,” Santos said.
