A Security Officer at the RLB International Airport tests positive for COVID-19
A security officer at the Robert L Bradshaw International Airport (RLBIA) has reportedly tested positive for the COVID19 virus, sources said Monday.
It was not immediately known if the St Christopher Air & Sea Port Authority (SCASPA) has informed other employees as well as the other stakeholders including airlines and immigration. Several SCASPA employees previously have been quarantined and additional cases have since arisen.
Reports confirmed the security officer was previously vaccinated. However, no additional information can be revealed as means of protecting the individual's privacy.
The RLB International Airport is the latest public building to be affected by the virus as St Kitts is presently experiencing a huge increase in positive Covid-19 cases.
Some of the other businesses and public organizations affected are Her Majesty's Prison, the Coast Guard Base of the St Kitts-Nevis Defence Force, the J N France General Hospital, several primary and high schools throughout the Federation, the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College (CFBC), the Office of the Commissioner of Police, the Magistrate and High Courts, TDC Trading, S L Horsford & Co Ltd, the St Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla National Bank, Sandy Point Fire and Rescue Services, RAMS Supermarket and Karibhana Clothing Store.
To date, there are 180 active COVID-19 cases listed for the twin-island Federation.
