Another suspect arrested in The Bahamas human trafficking operation

A third Bahamian man has been arrested in connection with the human trafficking operation that resulted in 17 people losing their lives off Blackbeard’s Cay on Sunday.

The Royal Bahamas Police Force (RBPF) said the man was arrested at a house in Central New Providence around 9 pm on Sunday without incident.

Two Bahamian men were arrested early Sunday morning when the Royal Bahamas Defence Force rescued 25 people from the boat that overturned during rough sea conditions.

The RBPF said it is “aggressively investigating and appealing to members of the public who may have any information regarding this incident to contact the Criminal Investigations Department”.

The search continues for the bodies of several people still missing at sea.
