Arima man charged with murder and kidnapping, T&T
A 26-year-old man was due to appear virtually before an Arima magistrate charged with the murder of Kevon Francois.
A police release said Shem Charles, 26, of Maturita, Arima, was also charged with two counts of false imprisonment, two counts of kidnapping, and one count of wounding, following advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Roger Gaspard SC on Friday.
Francois, 29, of Valencia, was found dead with chop wounds to his back at the Heights of Guanapo, Arima, on March 6, 2021.
A 36-year-old man was also found at the scene with wounds to his hand.
He was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Investigations into the incident resulted in the arrest of a suspect on July 8, 2021.
ASP Douglas, Insp, supervised the investigation. Hosein and acting inspector Sylvester. Charles was charged on Saturday by PC Barran.
