Bahamas: Third teen arrested for rape and armed robbery assault
Police have charged a third teenage suspect with the rape and armed robbery of a 47-year-old woman.
Prosecutors allege that Bain, along with a 16-year-old of Balls Alley and William Dean, raped the woman and robbed her of a blue Samsung A21s phone, valued at $250.
The June 16 incident, off Mackey Street, caused a group of vigilantes to take matters into their own hands.
After being released from the hospital, Calvin Bain, 18, of Balls Alley, appeared before Magistrate Samuel McKinney, charged with the June 16 incident and other crimes.
He had casts on both arms.
Dean wore a stiff cervical collar, a cast, and a head bandage when he appeared in court earlier this week.
Prosecutors allege that Bain, Dean, Stephon Rolle, 18, of St. James Road, and the teenager robbed Nathaniel Butterfield of $13 at gunpoint on June 16.
Dean was charged by himself with the June 16 armed robbery of Paul Gayle of a 2016 Nissan Wingroad that contained tools and a generator and his wallet with $70.
They are also accused of robbing Hubert Bowe of $14 on June 15.
Bain was not required to enter pleas to the charges. He did not have a lawyer and was remanded to prison until August 9th.
