Barbados: Police launch investigation into fatal hit-and-run
Barbados police are investigating a fatal road accident that claimed the life of a 64-year-old male pedestrian early Wednesday morning.
The victim, Cedric Beckles of Golden Rock, The Pine, St. Michael, was struck by a vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. The incident occurred around 1:20 a.m., approximately 150 meters south of the Clyde Walcott Roundabout, along Waterford Boulevard, St. Michael.
According to The Barbados Police Service (TBPS), officers responded to a report received via telephone. Upon their arrival, ambulance personnel were already on site and confirmed that Beckles showed no signs of life. Preliminary investigations revealed that the vehicle involved fled the scene following the collision.
