Bars and clubs to reopen in Antigua
Last September, Bars and clubs closed as the government tried to reduce new coronavirus (COVID-19) infections.
Minister of Information, Broadcasting, Telecommunications & Information Technology Melford Nicholas told the media today that his ministry expects to see a surge of people coming forward to get their cards.
“We are at the full level of capacity that I wanted to be at concerning the production of the ID cards. The teams at the Friars Hill Road and Multi-Purpose Centre are in a position to produce a minimum of 1,000 cards per day. The tracking that I’ve seen [shows] we have approximately 160 persons, who have not had their cards,” he said.
Pleasure craft is also allowed to operate, but the owners must adhere to the covid-19 protocols, including vaccinated patrons and workers, the provision of sanitizing, and temperature stations on board.
Fetes will not yet be allowed until community immunity is achieved.
