China and Cuba Share Metrology Expertise
Chinese Metrology experts are training their Cuban colleagues during a seminar on the scientific study of measurement at Havana’s Royalton Habana Paseo Hotel.
The experience of China’s National Institute of Metrology (NIM) in the scientific study of weighing and measurements is significant for major Cuban programs aimed at the development of the local economy and the society, said Armando Rodriguez, Cuban deputy Minister for Science, Technology and the Environment (CITMA) in his opening remarks of the seminar on measurement patterns and food and bio-medicine technologies.
Rodriguez said that both the Chinese and Cuban governments are willing to develop bilateral cooperation to higher levels.
Meanwhile, Li Mengwan Sophia, coordinator of the seminar, said that twelve NIM experts will share their advancement in Metrology, which counts on a millenary experience in China, allowing the local development of measurement instruments and systems.
The technical training will benefit researchers and experts from the Cuban National Institute for Metrology Research the State Standardization and Inspection Office under the Food Industry Ministry.
