Cuba expresses gratitude to Russia for assisting to defeat fascism
Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel on Tuesday thanked the peoples of the former Soviet Union who contributed to defeating fascism on the occasion of the anniversary of the invasion of the Nazi Army into Soviet territory.
On this day, the Cuban president expressed gratitude and admiration for the Soviet contribution in a phone talk with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.
‘In a phone conversation with esteemed President Putin, I conveyed my sincere admiration and gratitude to the heroic Soviet people for its decisive contribution to the victory over fascism,’ Díaz-Canel added on Twitter.
’80 years ago, Nazi Germany mercilessly attacked the Soviet Union. The West turned a blind eye waiting for its destruction,’ Cuban president live-tweeted.
With 27 million dead people,f our years of war could not counter the Soviet people´s heroism, he posted.
Honour and glory to the Great Patriotic War, which stopped the Nazi war machine and placed the Red Flag onto the Reichstag dome, thus marking the end of the dark fascist night, Díaz-Canel stressed.
