Cuba is open to Qatari investments, minister tells Qatar Chamber
Qatar Chamber’s first vice-chairman, Mohamed bin Towar al-Kuwari, met with the Cuban Minister of Agriculture, Perez Brito, to discuss ways to enhance economic and trading relations, particularly in the agricultural sector.
The meeting, held in the presence of the Cuban Ambassador Alain Perez Torres, explored the possibility of establishing partnerships between the Qatari and Cuban private sectors.
The Cuban minister called on Qatari businessmen to explore investment opportunities available in the country’s agriculture sector, noting that Cuba is actively involved in agricultural development and possesses advanced technologies related to agricultural production, especially in resource infrastructure and workforce provision. He also highlighted the investment incentives offered to foreign investors.
Al-Kuwari said Qatar and Cuba share distinguished relations, noting the presence of successful Qatari investments in Cuba. He highlighted the significant number of Cuban companies operating in Qatar and underscored how this encourages companies from both sides to explore investment opportunities and form partnerships and commercial alliances.
Furthermore, al-Kuwari emphasised the importance of developing commercial relations between both nations, noting that both parties have ample opportunities to hold meetings and explore potential enterprises where businessmen can cooperate, thereby promoting trade volume.
Al-Kuwari highlighted the interest in enhancing cooperation between the Qatari and Cuban chambers to promote trade between both countries, assuring that the Qatar Chamber is encouraging trade development between both countries’ private sectors.
