Cuba to host exhibition of Dominican films
The Cuban Film Institute (ICAIC) will host a showcase of Dominican movies in honour of the 65th anniversary of Cuban cinema on March 24.
Among the organizers are producers Nicole Quiñones and Jean Rojas, members of the Dominican Republic's ACROS Films production company. They will bring over 15 films and documentaries—including Indigo, their most recent movie—and two animated films.
Nicole Quiñones remarked that Indigo catches people’s attention with its plot, based on two parallel stories brimming with love, adventure, intrigue and past situations tuned to today’s society, and stated her wish to co-produce a film with Cuba to strengthen ties, share experiences and promote both nations’ cultural identity.
“Our film industry has money, and Cuba has enough resources to undertake this project and set in motion an exchange that favours export and import between the two countries,” she concluded.
