Cuban Foreign Minister calls for the preservation of life on World Environment Day
On Saturday, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez called to reinforce the commitments to preserve life on the planet on World Environment Day.
According to the UN website, the onset of Covid-19 also demonstrated disastrous consequences for the loss of ecosystems.
This World Environment Day will kick off the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration (2021-2030), a global mission to revive billions of hectares, from forests to farmlands, from the top of mountains to the depth of the sea.
Faced with this great problem, World Environment Day focuses on restoring the ecosystem, and its theme is Reimagine, Recreate, Restore.
In a message posted on Twitter, the head of Cuban diplomacy recalled the United Nations’ appeal to work against environmental degradation in the next decade.
Unless we rehabilitate one billion hectares of degraded land in ten years, environmental destruction and pollution will take accelerated steps forwards, the UN warned Rodriguez, tweeted.
