Deadly shooting in Florida: Gunman opens fire in Wendy's drive-thru, killing 3
Hallandale Police said Tuesday that three people were killed in a shooting outside a local Wendy's and are working to identify a suspect.
According to witnesses, the incident occurred at around 1 a.m. in the drive-thru area of the restaurant, who described hearing at least ten shots.
"It was boom, boom, boom," one said. "It was quick."
Police declined to disclose further details citing the ongoing investigation but confirmed that the three deceased victims were not restaurant employees. "We don't believe that there is anyone out there intending to do additional harm to the public," Cpt. Megan Jones told reporters, adding that the attack was likely not random.
Investigators are reviewing surveillance footage to name a suspect and determine the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting.
