Dominica given all clear from Hurricane Tammy
The government of Dominica has discontinued the tropical storm warning and hurricane watch for Dominica.
Minister for National Security and Legal Affairs Rayburn Blackmoore announced this online a short while ago as officials monitored the development of Hurricane Tammy.
He says as of 8 a.m., the centre of Hurricane Tammy moved 50 miles east of Dominica and is expected to move further north away from Dominica as the day progresses.
Based on advice from the Senior Met Officer and the Office of Disaster Management (OPM), the decision was taken to remove the tropical storm warning and hurricane watch for Dominica from 11 a.m.
In this regard, the National Security Minister says 'the all clear' has been given from 11 a.m. to resume normal activities.
As a precautionary measure, a flood watch may be possible from 6 p.m., with the rain continuing to be monitored for potential flooding and landslides.
