Double murder: Three arrested and gun seized in St Ann, JA
Three persons have been detained, and a Glock pistol with 11 rounds seized as the police stepped up investigations into a double murder that rocked the quiet community of Spring Piece in Pimento Walk, St Ann, on Saturday night.
Quick response by the police, assisted by the JDF, resulted in the three suspects being picked up late Sunday.
Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) private Leighton Sinclair, 24, and 37-year-old mechanic Devoy Webb were gunned down around 11 p.m. Saturday as they made their way home.
The gun reportedly found in bushes.
On Sunday, residents of Spring Piece expressed shock at the killing of the two men, who they described as “good youth” and who were good friends.
Reports are that one of the three suspects in the murder turned himself in after his mother was apprehended and questioned by the police.
“Investigations are ongoing to ascertain whether they can be charged or otherwise,” Deputy Superintendent of Police Kevin Francis, who is in charge of operations for St Ann, told reporters on Monday.
