Mandella Linkz: Because a lot of shows are being cancelled and most artists don’t copywrite their music the industry has faced quite a challenge because of Covid-19. Artists that don’t have their own studio are finding it hard, but it has been a time if used correctly to concentrate on making music that speak to the audience. After all we are the voice for people that don’t have a voice of their own. Music is a way to give hope and celebrate life even if its in such unprecedented times.
Interviewer: What have been some of the difficulties you faced as an artist because of COVID-19 and How did you work around those challenges?
Mandella Linkz: During such times social media presence is mandatory. Although times are different now and shows are cancelled everywhere, I’m using the time to be with my family and friends more. I’m also working on my music and recording at the studio. I have always believed in the power of working on your mindset, looking at obstacles as an opportunity and so I have used my time wisely by being present with my children more and spending time gardening and fishing.
Interviewer: What are your future hopes for the music industry once ovid-19 is no longer a concern?
Mandella Linkz: I hope to be back on the roads again, I want my music to reach more people. I’m Working hard on new songs and would like to come together with my fans once again and have a great time. I also have plans to spend time with the youth and do charitable works as I believe they both very important things that need attention. I have learnt the great lessons in my life from elder people and therefore would like to spend some time with the elderly as well.
Interviewer: What has come most unexpected to you in the support and love of your fans through a time such as this?
Mandella Linkz: It has shown me that true fans are forever and that no matter what the circumstances maybe they continue to show up and support. I’m deeply grateful and indebted for the support and love they have shown me through the years as I am here because of them.
Madella Linkz’s most recent hit “Free up” was released on YouTube in November 2020.
