French national shot in Dutch Quarter-St Maarten
A man is now in serious but stable condition after an unknown assailant shot him in the Dutch Quarter, St Maarten. The French national is being treated at the Louis Constant Fleming Hospital.
Police dispatch was notified about the victim after he showed up at St Maarten Medical Center (SMMC) with a gunshot wound to his abdomen.
When questioned by Police, the victim said a friend dropped him off at the medical centre.
Information from this apparent shooting incident is not very clear. What is known up to now is one person was shot in Dutch Quarter between 10 pm and 11 pm on December 9.
The investigation is ongoing in this case. The Police Force is appealing to the public to provide any information that may assist with the investigation related to this incident.
The Sint Maarten Police Force also requests that the public remain vigilant as it has noticed a spike in these incidents.
