Fuel prices increase on the USVI
Consumers are paying more for fuel at the pump on the US Virgin Islands as global volatility on the oil markets as a result of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine continues.
The USVI Department of Licensing and Consumer Affairs (DLCA) issued the results of its latest territory-wide fuel price survey and rack rate findings today.
On St Croix, the lowest price for self-service regular was found at Five Corners Service Station and One Love Service Stations – Golden Rock and La Grande Princess for $3.599 per gallon. One Love Service Station- Hannah’s Rest came in second with the lowest price for self-service regular at $3.779 per gallon.
The lowest price for self-service premium at $3.689 per gallon was found at Five Corners Service Station and One Love Service Stations – Golden Rock and La Grande Princess. One Love Service Station- Hannah’s Rest came in second with the lowest price for self-service premium at $3.879 per gallon.
The lowest diesel price was found at One Love Service Station- Hannah’s Rest at $3.159 per gallon.
On St Thomas, Consumers may find the lowest price for fuel at Total Gottlieb, Total Mandel Union, and Total Rodriguez for $4.499 per gallon for self-service regular and $4.699 for self-service premium.
Petrus Smith Bay had the second-lowest price for self-service regular at $4.559 per gallon and self-service premium at $3.759 per gallon.
The lowest diesel price was found at Puma Bovoni, Puma Frenchtown, and Puma Smith Bay for $4.559 per gallon.
On St John, the lowest self-service prices were found at E-C Gas Station at $4.69 per gallon for regular, $4.81 per gallon for premium, and $4.79 per gallon for diesel.
During the period March 7 – March 14, 2022, Gulf Oil at Lime Tree Bay Terminal sold its rake per gallon at $3.58 for regular, $3.66 for premium, and diesel (ULSD) is at $4.04.
Fuel prices are expected to increase further as the US Government has banned imports of oil and petroleum products from Russia.
Across the US mainland, fuel prices have soared past $4 per gallon in many states for the first time since 2008.
Reports suggest that prices can climb to over $5 per gallon.
