Grenada completes negotiations for Kawana Bay and Rivera site
The Government of Grenada has completed negotiations to lease the Kawana Bay site to Naguib Sawiris, owner of the Silver Sands Hotel.
Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell announced at a ribbon-cutting ceremony earlier this week for the commissioning of Silversands Beach House in Point Salines.
Following a short period of study and design, the Silversands team will soon re-start construction at the site to complete a 5-star resort. Part of the deal for the Kawana Bay site was the surrender of the Riviera site, which sits adjacent to the Camerhogne Park on Grand Anse Beach.
This allows the government to expand and enhance the public space on Grand Anse Beach. The expanded public park will be declared a National Heroes Park in celebration of Grenada’s heroes, past and present.
A statement said this symbolic handing over underscores the government’s dedication to responsible land use and community engagement and highlights the ongoing efforts to contribute to the betterment of the people of Grenada.
