Grenada: National Stadium needs roof repairs after recent strong winds
Minister of Youth, Sports & Culture Ron Redhead and Permanent Secretary within the Ministry Norman Gilbert toured facilities at the National Cricket Stadium on Wednesday.
The visit sought to update the Minister on the present condition of the facilities and areas needing attention.
The National Stadium at Queens Park St George was among the structures affected by last weekend's gust front. As a result, the Minister was also updated on areas that require immediate intervention, including roof repairs.
Minister Redhead says Government intends to focus heavily on capacity-building for future facility maintenance.
The People’s Republic of China will undertake the maintenance work on the National Cricket Stadium through a special contractual arrangement.
General Manager accompanied the team from the Ministry for the Grenada National Cricket Stadium Shurla Harris-Fields and Technical Officer Patrick Louison.
