Grenada PM attends COP29 in Baku, Azerbaijan
Grenada Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell is attending the 29th United Nations Climate Change Conference of Parties (COP29).
This year’s conference which takes place in Baku, Azerbaijan from November 11 to 22, 2024, will bring together world leaders, environmental experts and climate change activists, with the aim of advancing their collective efforts to combat climate change.
During his participation at the conference from November 12 to 14, the Prime Minister will join Kerryne James, Minister for Climate Resilience, The Environment and Renewable Energy, and other Caribbean and world leaders in High-level meetings to discuss advancing our clean energy solutions, enhancing climate resilience and promoting sustainable development.
Prior to arriving in Azerbaijan, attended the Dominica Labour Party's Convention in Dominica on November 10, and following Azerbaijan, the Prime Minister will attend the Bermuda Progressive Labour Party's 61st Anniversary event on November 16.
The Prime Minister will return to the state on November 17.
Upon his return, he will then travel to Guyana to attend the CARICOM-India Summit as Chairman of CARICOM from November 20 to 22, 2024. Andy Williams, Minister for Mobilisation, Implementation and Transformation will act as Prime Minister in the absence of Dickon Mitchell.
