Guyana President to address T&T Energy Conference later this month
The Energy Chamber of Trinidad and Tobago has announced that Dr Mohamed Irfaan Ali, President of Guyana, will deliver an address at the T&T Energy Conference on January 23rd 2023.
In a statement, the Chamber said Guyana had seen a meteoric rise of importance not only in the Caribbean but the global energy system since the discovery of oil offshore Guyana by Exxon and their partners in 2015. Since then, there have been 30 significant finds in Guyana by the consortium, 9 of which have been in 2022.
It adds that President Ali has been a driving force in energy development in Guyana and the region in recent times, making clear the position of the Government of Guyana in developing its natural resources.
According to the Chamber, Dr Keith Rowley, Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, will deliver the keynote address at the conference.
Dr Rowley will also be joined by government ministers Stuart Young, Minister of Energy and Energy Industries and Colm Imbert, Minister of Finance.
