Guyanese influencer Tavi Badiee killed in ‘targeted’ attack in Atlanta
Guyanese social media influencer and artist Tavi Badiee was shot dead yesterday in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, in what police said: “appears to be a targeted incident”.
Tavi Badiee, whose real name is Teisha Doris, was shot at around 4:30 am while the SUV Uber she was travelling in stopped at a traffic light in the affluent Lindbergh Drive, Buckhead neighbourhood.
Media reports said the SUV the 30-year-old was travelling in was hit over 20 times.
Fox News Atlanta reported that Tavi Badiee’s lifeless body was found in the SUV’s backseat by police.
Reports did not say if anyone else was injured.
Guyanese have sent condolences to her family on social media.
“You celebrated your birthday a few days ago, and now you’re gone. Life is so unpredictable! Sleep in peace, baby girl,” one person wrote.
Tavi Badiee’s former friend and rival, Lola Doll, also expressed condolence that she wished the “Can't Style Me” singer did not lose her life.
“There is a time and place for everything. All jokes aside, even though you wished me death and made my life hell when I was in ATL, I still would NEVER wish this horrible death on anybody. You did not deserve to die like that,” Lola Doll wrote on Facebook.
“I still love u ❤️❤️❤️❤️ rip 😰😰,” she wrote in another post.
Fans of Tavi Badiee accused Lola Doll of being insincere and cloud-chasing.
Lola Doll responded to the criticism by saying that her haters had no place to tell her how to feel about the loss of someone she loved.
