Haiti: «Everything is out of control !»
Wilhelm Lemke, President of the Council of the Association of Industries of Haiti (ADIH), once again urges the Government "[...] to take its responsibilities faced the deterioration of the living conditions of the population abandoned to herself. He invites the Government to restore order and peace immediately in the country delivered to the hands of armed gangs for too long already.
The Government of the Republic of Haiti helplessly assists in the decay of all public authorities. Everything is out of control!
The ADIH is more than worried and exasperated by the pace of the socio-political crisis, and The country is at the bottom of the abyss.
Criminality, lack of dialogue, and progressive loss of control of specific geographical areas of the country are all factors that plunge the Nation into this unprecedented chaos that we are currently experiencing.
For about a month, the General Administration of Customs (AGD) has been on strike, paralysing the daily activities of our members, importers and exporters in general, causing shortages of necessities also causing severe losses related to the impossibility of exporting national production;
"[...] The whole country is a victim of acts of kidnapping that must stop !" People need to go about their business in peace. It is a fundamental right of which she is deprived.
The Government must take the appropriate measures to combat insecurity and restore confidence among the population but also allow companies, and providers of employment, to ensure the continuity of their operations.
Several companies are preparing to suspend their activities permanently due to persistent insecurity.
Added to all this is the constant shortage of fuel, the daily gang thefts etc...
The Haitian population is exhausted !"»
