Happy Self-Love Today
Like everywhere else, the Caribbean has been hit by the V-day, love bug. Our people, particularly our women, now expect romantic getaways, chocolate, flowers, and pricey jewelry.
However, Valentine's Day can be a dark and lonely day for some. The day either makes us wish we had a partner or wish we had a better partner. However, don’t give this one day the power of defining you. Instead, look at your life as a whole, where you are now, and where you intend to go. After all, the most important relationship is the one you have with yourself.
Once you have that healthy, loving relationship with yourself the desperation for validation on February 14th subsides. Here are a few tips which should get us all on the self-love train.
1. Be Your Biggest Cheerleader:
Start each day by telling yourself something positive. Whether it’s how amazing you look, how intelligent you are, or how well you handled a difficult situation. Anything that will make you smile.
2. Nourish Your Temple:
3. Filter Your Thoughts:
Don’t believe everything you think. There is an inner critic inside of us trying to keep us down. Block negative thoughts out and embrace those which encourage growth and happiness.
4. Remember You are One of a Kind
5. Dump All Toxic Relationships
