Jamaica: Man arrested for sexually assaulting five children
A man who has been accused of sexually assaulting five young children is now in police custody.
The alleged victims include four boys and a girl whose ages range from 6 to 12 years old, commanding officer for the St Mary police, Superintendent Bobbette Morgan, has confirmed.
Morgan said investigators are probing eight cases of indecent assault, one case of buggery, and one incident of grievous sexual assault against the 38-year-old suspect.
Investigators believe that two of the boys, who are brothers, were allegedly molested at the suspect's home in one incident.
According to reports, the man was held and badly beaten by residents last Sunday.
He was later rescued and taken to the Port Maria Hospital for treatment.
“He is to face an identification parade,” Morgan told The Gleaner late Wednesday.
The incidents allegedly occurred on June 1.
No charges have been laid against him.
