A 20-year-old is set to appear at court on Monday to face seven charges relating to the rape of a girl over the age of 16 and several offences on a girl aged 16.

He is also accused of one count of causing a child to watch a sexual act.

Thomas Fletcher, of Bayswater Road, North Stonehouse, was expected to offer pleas to several offences at Plymouth Crown Court today. Still, due to complications over a defence statement, he was unable to attend.

Fletcher faces one count of rape of a female over the age of 16, two counts of sexual communication with a child, three counts of sexual activity.

Following a discussion with Fletcher's defence barrister Ali Rafati and prosecutor Peter Coombe, Judge William Mousley QC ordered Fletcher appear at court via video link on Monday, June 14, where he will take a plea on all seven charges.
