Man facing charges after trying to kidnap a 4-year-old girl
According to the Boston Police Department, a 31-year-old Jamaica Plain man is accused of trying to kidnap a four-year-old in Jamaica Plain before he was chased down by members of the victim’s family on Sunday, according to the Boston Police Department.
Anthony Jackson of Jamaica Plain was arrested and charged with kidnapping a child under 16 and indecent assault and battery on a child.
Police responded to a call about a fight in Jamaica Plain shortly before 6:45 p.m. When officers arrived, they spoke with witnesses who said they saw a man walk up to a child who was playing outside. He is accused of picking her up and kissing her.
According to the department witnesses told police, he then proceeded to walk away with the girl in his hands.
A witness yelled to the man to put the child down and then alerted the girl’s family members, who chased the man. They were able to stop the man, police said.
