More details emerge in ‘double murder’ of Midlands man and his wife in Antigua

The bodies of a Midlands man and his wife were found in their home in Antigua on July 20. It is suspected that they were murder

No charges have been brought in the case yet after Tyrone and Pia Baptiste were found dead in their Golden Grove home.

Sources told local news outlet that 64-year-old Tyrone was found lying on his back on a sofa with what appeared to be gunshot wounds to the face, neck and back. Pia Baptiste, 61, who was from Netherlands originally, was found in a bedroom. She had gunshot wounds to her face and shoulder.

She was found with her wrists tied with a wire and gagged with a piece of fabric, it was reported. The couple were found after a colleague of Pia’s grew suspicious when she didn’t show up for work. The colleague visied their home and found that the door was open. They then contacted the police.

The police reportedly found during their investigation that someone likely enterred the home through a window. Preliminary investigation revealed that the intruder shot and killed the couple after gaining entry.

A medical examiner was reported to have said that the couple died early that afternoon.

Pia was the General Manager of tour company Tropical Adventures and had been working at the company for almost 30 years. The company’s Executive Director, Patrick Ryan, was reported to have said that she was “lovely and kind”.

The 64-year-old Tyrone was retired but had worked in the hospitality and culinary sectors for many years.
