Mystic Marley follows her grandfather Bob Marley’s musical footsteps
Reggae legend, Bob Marley’s 23-year-old granddaughter, singer-songwriter Mystic Marley, chats with Hoda Kotb about her grandfather Bob Marley's legacy and her first single, “Sad Girls (Cause Damage)”.
Mystic Marley, daughter of eight-time Grammy Award-winning artist Stephen Marley, adds her voice to the Marley family music empire with the release of her debut project.
“I feel like nature has this really beautiful way of showing itself,” said Marley. “Sometimes, even in the trees, I just close my eyes and I see him, or when I’m making music, I feel him.”
Mystic added, “I think if he was still alive things would be different because he was such a good leader and people were so drawn to him.”
The upcoming album is titled Oracle. The 23-year-old appeared on US morning show TODAY as part of their Women Are Essential series, where she spoke about her connection to her late grandfather and how honored she is to be a part of his legacy. Mystic, named after Bob's hit single Natural Mystic, on Wednesday released the single Sad Girls.
