New Democratic Party opposition arrested for breaching public order in SVG
General Secretary of the New Democratic Party (NDP) in St Vincent and the Grenadines, Tyrone James, and party media relations Colin Graham appeared before a Kingstown Magistrate today after being arrested and charged for breaching the public order.
The four charges are allegedly concerned with organizing a protest on July 29 and August 5 without notifying the Commissioner of Police at least 24 hours before the procession and for allegedly taking part in a public procession on July 29 and August 5 in contravention of the Public Order Act.
James and Graham, who are on bail, entered not guilty pleas. They will return to court on December 7.
Lawyer Kay Bacchus-Baptiste in an update via Facebook on Wednesday evening said the police were seeking three other persons.
