New Caribbean artiste, Vere Musiq, a local artiste out of Anguilla, is currently blowing up the airwaves with a new music video released on Monday 31st January 2022.

Vere Musiq’s new song “Calling on You” is a soul touching piece highlighting many of the social issues plaguing our society, providing hope and encouragement. According to his manager, Mr. Ivan Connor, the song was written in the middle of the pandemic. He stated "When the world was riddled with fear and doom there was this voice echoing hope for today, tomorrow, and days to come. The depression, the fear, the emotional hurt, the sickness, the pain, the neglect, the rejection, the hunger, the paralyzing feeling of losing a loved one, the debilitating reality of fighting cancer, sever COVID-19 and many other diseases, but like that glimmer of morning light on the horizon there is hope for today."

In Vere Musiq's new single he calls of Jah for that hope and that can be heard in the chorus, “I’m calling on you, to do what only you can do. I’m calling on you, cause I’m just a man, a man who understands, that I can’t but you can. So, I’m calling…O Jah.”

His new music video has been described by his fans as ‘brilliant’, ‘an inspiration’, ‘off the chain’, ‘great message’.

His manager added, "This song will come to mean a lot to a lot of people in their own way and that is what we wanted it to do."

“Calling on You” was written by Vere himself and produced by Wade Johnson, popular keyboardist and award winning producer from Kingston, Jamaica. Johnson has worked with popular artistes such as Koffee, Romaine Virgo, Busy Signal, and Marcia Griffiths. He also produced Vere Musiq’s previous music videos “Greater” which featured regional artiste Agent Sasco, formally known as Assassin, out of Kingston Jamaica, and “Wherever You Are” which feature the wife of Vere Musiq.

Vere was born in the twin island federation of St. Kitts & Nevis, but moved to Anguilla, the island of his father’s birth, in his early twenties.
