Philly man arrested in the USVI for possession of multiple firearms

Pennsylvania man was arrested by the Virgin Islands Department of Justice (VIDOJ) for possession of multiple firearms.
Jahmir Victor of Philadelphia is alleged to have unlawfully imported the firearms for sale and did not declare or register them.
He is also accused of being a co-conspirator in an alleged illegal firearm trafficking scheme.
VIDOJ said Victor's arrest stems from a joint investigation with the US Homeland Security Investigations (HSI).
VIDOJ alleges Victor arrived in the US Virgin Islands on November 10 via Spirit Airlines, and he had only informed customs about two firearms.
During questioning, Victor allegedly revealed 10 firearms and 14 magazines that he was going to sell.
He was arrested on November 15 at the Cyril E King Airport while attempting to board a flight back to the mainland.
This morning he appeared in court. Superior Court Magistrate Judge Henry Carr upheld his initial bail of $150,000 and added that Victor could not be released unless a suitable party was determined.
Victor was placed on a 6 pm to 6 am Monday to Friday curfew and 24-hour house arrest over the weekends.
Carr also ordered that he must surrender his passport and not leave the territory without the court's permission.
In a statement, Attorney General Denise George said: "Collaboration with our federal partners is key in our fight to combat the illegal importation of firearms and the deadly effect that it has on our rising levels of violence in our community."
