Pilot & American family listed as victims of St Vincent plane crash
The victims of yesterday’s plane crash in Bequia, St Vincent and the Grenadines have been identified.
The Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) identified the victims as Christian Klepser, 51 years old, from the United States of America, his daughters Madita Klepser,10, and Annik Klepser, 12, and pilot Robert Sachs of Bequia.
The Klepsers and Sachs were killed when the single-engine aircraft crashed into the sea, one nautical mile West of Petit Nevis, shortly after take-off from the J.F. Mitchell Airport in Paget Farm, Bequia for St Lucia.
Police said the aircraft, owned by Sachs and had the registration N4023B, experienced difficulties and plummeted into the ocean.
“Fishermen and divers from Paget Farm went to the incident scene in their boats to render assistance. The SVG Coast Guard was informed and quickly travelled to Paget Farm, Bequia, to lead in the rescue efforts,” RSVGPF said.
Autopsies on the bodies are expected to be carried out in the coming days.
