Pres Ali heads to the US for meetings with US officials & OAS
President Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali left Guyana last evening for a three-day visit to Washington, DC.
A statement from the President’s Office said Ali is expected to meet with a number of stakeholders from the US Congress and the State Department.
Ali is expected to present at the Organisation of American States (OAS).
He is also scheduled to take part in a number of private sector meetings and visit several universities, including the National Defence University.
The President is joined by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hugh Todd; the Minister of Tourism, Industry and Commerce, Oneidge Walrond; Foreign Secretary Robert Persaud; and the Chief of Staff of the Guyana Defence Force (GDF), Brigadier Omar Khan on the trip.
