Rave reviews for 'Slow Motion' at premiere
Guests who attended the premiere of 'Slow Motion'—the music video by Cham, Bounty Killer and Dexta Daps, as well as the accompanying short film, which also features singer Jada Kingdom—gave the visuals the thumbs up.
The premiere of both visuals took place on Wednesday night at the ROK Hotel in downtown Kingston. Several members of the entertainment industry were in attendance.
"The video shot! The short film have a vibe. Mi nah lie, mi like how Dexta and Cham and Bounty dem represent," a woman who identified herself as Maureen told Loop Entertainment.
Her friend, Carla, was just as complimentary about both projects.
"Yeah man, the acting was okay, mi just glad fi see mi favourite artiste dem inna da likkle suppen deh. The music video a gwaan good, too. Yeah mi like it," she said.
Some guests fired blanks with 'gun fingers' in the air as symbols of appreciation as the short film was being shown on a big screen.
Dancehall artiste Cham said the idea for the short film came from Monique Blake, who has been instrumental in the Verzuz series in the United States. Dennis Brown directed it.
'Slow Motion' is the first single from a soon-to-be-released collaborative album by Cham and Bounty Killer, produced by Dave Kelly of Madhouse Records.
"Working with Bounty and Dexta was a joy. Bounty and I have been friends over the years, and we have grown and matured. We had to go for the ladies' pimp, which is Dexta, and he outdid himself in the studio.
"Dexta is a great artiste, which many people are yet to see his full potential as an artiste," said Cham.
The collaborative album by Cham and Bounty Killer is set for release later this year.
