REVAMPED SANDALS ROYAL BAHAMIAN TO REOPEN IN JANUARY
Sandals have unveiled designs for its “completely reimagined” Royal Bahamian resort as the property undergoes a multi-million dollar renovation.
The spa resort and its private island will reopen on 27 January, with Sandal's executive chair Adam Stewart describing how the hotel operator intended to “dialling up the luxury” and “leaning into the easy-going spirit of the Bahamas” with its new concepts.
The revamped Royal Bahamian will feature new suits and an Island Village with the addition of Sandals river suites in the renamed East & West Bays, with more than 200 renovated rooms and suites and the new Island Village itself – a pastel-coloured village inspired by the Bahamian archipelago, featuring butler style villas, each named after an island in The Bahamas, with their private pool.
The resort will also feature Coconut Grove, an “expansive” lounge shaded by coconut palms with “chic” seating options, live music, sea views and food trucks.
Five new dining options will be introduced when the resort reopens – including La Plume for French cuisine, traditional British pub The Queen’s Pearl, Kanoo for cuisine that celebrates the Caribbean region, Butch’s Island Chop House for steak, fish fillets and seafood and fresh sushi spot, Soy.
Meanwhile Royal Bahamian will also offer a revamped private island, Sandals Barefoot Cay, featuring a beach bar, outdoor shower and new restaurant. Aralia House will serve up fresh seafood “from boat to table” and authentic Caribbean delicacies.
