Spain organizations support Cuba
Madrid, Jul 12 (Prensa Latina) More than fifty groups of friendship with Cuba in Spain today renewed their solidarity 'with the people and the Revolution, in the face of interference and manipulation' against the Caribbean island.
In a statement released in this capital and numerous Spanish cities, the State Movement of Solidarity with Cuba (MESC) described yesterday's demonstrations in the largest of the Antilles as destabilization attempts.
'Cuba is suffering a new episode of attacks on its sovereignty with the support of large media, taking advantage of the crisis and limitations caused by the economic blockade of the United States,' said the MESC. Made up of 53 associations, groups, and by the United Left, the Communist of Spain and the Communist of the Peoples of Spain and the Marxist-Leninist Communist parties, the coordinator described what happened as another chapter in the campaign against Cuba.
It is part of the war to destabilize the country, ignore Cuban institutions (…); while the mainstream media are silent on specific events, they added. The members of the MESC denounced that there is no talk in the media about the solidarity work on the Henry Reeve Cuban Medical Brigades or the damaging effects of the economic blockade imposed by the US for more than 60 years.
Nor, they specified, does the development of five vaccine candidates against Covid-19 have the deserved highlight, a great achievement of Cuban science.
In-text they argued that the events of this Sunday constitute a direct attack on sovereignty, justified with falsehoods and manipulations, in search of the intervention of foreign powers.
In the end, what the powers do is destroy governments, steal the country's resources and repress the population they considered.
'Cuba is not alone. There are more than two thousand solidarity associations around the world, as well as hundreds of associations of Cubans living abroad, who demand respect for Cuba's sovereignty and independence and put an end to the aggressive policy of the blockade', they said.
In just over two months, the MESC managed to raise funds in Spain to purchase more than four million syringes to support the mass vaccination process on the island against the pandemic.
In this regard, he announced that the MESC has decided to expand the campaign, keeping all accounts enabled for it.
