TCI: Five to appear in court next week for drug possession
Five men held during the recent “Operation Reclaim” anti-crime exercise on the Turks and Caicos Islands will appear in court next week.
The men, who are from the Dock Yard, Five Cays, South Dock Road and Providenciales communities, were arrested on Wednesday, 26th October and Thursday, 27th October, following joint exercises conducted by officers of the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force and the Bahamas Police Force.
The Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force said the men had been charged with the following:
Giveson Marc,18, was charged with possession of controlled drugs, namely; Amphetamine, Cocaine and Cannabis and possession of controlled drugs with intent to supply, namely Cocaine and Amphetamine.
Mikey Emile, 24, was charged with the possession of controlled drugs, Amphetamine, Cocaine and Cannabis and possession of controlled drugs with intent to supply, namely, Cocaine and Amphetamine.
Giberson Marc,18, was charged with the offences; of possession of controlled drugs, Amphetamine, Cocaine and Cannabis and possession of controlled drugs with intent to supply, namely, Cocaine and Amphetamine.
Mately Joseph,24, was charged with the offences; of possession of controlled drugs, Amphetamine, Cocaine and Cannabis and possession of controlled drugs with intent to supply, namely, Cocaine and Amphetamine.
Wanly Constant, 34, was charged with three counts of Possession of False Documents.
Acting Superintendent of Police in charge of Crime & Public Protection Grantley Williams said: "Through proactive police operations jointly by our RTCIPF officers and Bahamian colleagues; we were able to remove a considerable quantity of illicit drugs from the streets and charge those caught in possession of the illegal drugs.
“We were also able to arrest and charge someone who stayed beyond their permitted time in the TCI. This individual was found in possession of forged government documents.
“ I wish to commend our officers for their continued commitment to keeping the TCI safe and also thank our Bahamian colleagues for partnering with us in the fight against crime in our shared interest.”
