TCI: Man arrested for gun possession during anti-crime exercise

Police on the Turks and Caicos Islands arrested a 32-year-old man for possessing an illegal firearm, ammunition and marijuana.

Officers arrested the man, who is from Providenciales, during a stop and search operation along Airport Road as part of “Operation Reclaim”.

Ag ASP and Divisional Commander Randy Ellis, in commending officers’ work, said: “The work of the RTCIPF officers requires continuous vigilance during the execution of their duties. I wish to applaud the officers for taking up the mantle and who risked their lives as we try to rid the TCI of these illegal firearms, which are causing havoc to law-abiding citizens. Unfortunately, this young suspect did not heed the call of the recently concluded Gun Amnesty, and as such, he will feel the brunt of the law”.
