The Bahamas to continue with online classes in the new school year
When Bahamian students in public school return to classes in the 2021/2022 academic year on August 30, it will be in a virtual setting.
The Ministry of Education said while it preferred to have students attend schools in person, online classes will assist in controlling the spike in coronavirus (COVID-19) infections in the country.
“We will continue to monitor the state of this ever-evolving public health challenge closely to determine when it is safe for our students to return to our campuses,” the ministry said.
Private schools are urged to adopt a similar measure, and the ministry said any institution seeking face-to-face classes must seek permission.
Parents are encouraged to secure all necessary materials to ensure their child can benefit from the virtual setting.
