Three Haitians were deported after arriving in Jamaica illegally
Three of the four Haitians who illegally landed in Jamaica in August have now been deported to their homeland.
The fourth has been detained at a location in Kingston.
The Haitians landed off the coast of Spring Garden in Buff Bay, Portland, on August 3, after more than 10 days drifting at sea.
On September 24, the four pleaded guilty to the charge of illegal entry and were each fined $5,000 or 15 days in prison.
Three of the Haitians were sent home on a flight on Tuesday.
However, according to the police, the fourth Haitian was not allowed to board the flight due to a security concern raised by the pilot.
No law enforcement authority was on board the flight, which transported the Haitians to their homeland.
Similien Mickenson, 26, will remain in Kingston until another flight is secured.
Those deported are Acnien Joslin, 34; Willio St Fleur, 56; and, Wawens Thelome, 35.
