Three women were promoted to Inspectors of Police today.
They are W/Inspectors Alicia Piggott and Mahalia Bacchus, the Tobago Division and Sharon Motilal of the Special Branch.
The officers were given their letters of appointment, new badges of rank and canes at a ceremony held at the Police Administration Building, Port-of-Spain, presided over by Commissioner of Police (Ag.), Mc Donald Jacob.
CoP (Ag.) Jacob congratulated the three women police officers, saying that as “leaders”, the promotion will undoubtedly add to their “sense of actualisation”, which should be used to “lift the organisation.” He stressed the importance of middle management, whose mandate is also to harness and ensure a greater degree of “responsibility and accountability,” particularly among junior ranks.
Also in attendance were Deputy Commissioners of Police (Ag.), Intelligence and Investigations, Wendell Williams, Operations, Erla Christopher, and Administration and Support, Joanne Archie, W/Senior Superintendent of Police (Ag.), Human Resource Branch, Sherma Maynard-Wilson and President of the TTPS Social Welfare Association, ASP (Ag.) Gideon Dickson.
The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service congratulates W/Insps Piggott, Bacchus and Motilal and wishes them continued success in leadership and crime-fighting.
