Tropical Wave to affect Grenada on Sunday
Forecasters at the Meteorological Office at the Maurice Bishop International Airport are monitoring the westward movement of a Tropical wave.
At 2 pm, the wave was 52W – 53 W from 02N -15 N, 780 miles East of Grenada and moving westward around 15 kt.
The Tropical wave is expected to bring cloudy conditions beginning during the early morning on Sunday with possible light showers.
By late morning into the afternoon, overcast conditions are expected with moderate showers, which may become heavy at times, with thunderstorms and gusty winds.
The likelihood of significant impacts is more remarkable for the Sister Isles of Carriacou and Petite Martinique. These conditions can improve or deteriorate over time.
The Met Office continues to monitor the progress of this Tropical Wave as it moves across the island chain.
NaDMA encourages all to remain vigilant and encourages citizens to take the necessary safety measures to mitigate the impact of possible flooding in vulnerable areas.
The Agency further reminds members of the general public it is the hurricane season, and the message of preparedness should be the guiding principle in this season.
