T&T: 39-year-old man charged with murder
A San Juan man is expected to appear virtually before a Port of Spain Magistrate today, charged with the murder of Omar Baksh, which occurred on Wednesday 16th February 2022.
IDRIS MOHAMMED, 39, of Jojo Lane, San Juan, was charged with the offense, following advice received from Director of Public Prosecutions, Roger Gaspard SC, on Tuesday 8th March 2022.
Baksh, aka ‘Mohammed’, ‘Crutches’, and ‘One Foot’, of no fixed place of abode, was found with injuries to his body, in the San Juan district, on Wednesday 16th February 2022. He was taken for treatment at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex, where he died on the same date.
The accused was arrested in the San Juan district by PC Ali of the North Eastern Division’s Emergency Response Patrol Unit.
Investigations were supervised by ASP Douglas, Insp. Ramjag and John and W/Insp. Sylvester, all of the HBI Region 2.
Mohammed was charged by Cpl (Ag.) Gordon, also of HBI Region2, on Tuesday 8th March 2022.
