T&T: Boy, 5, injured, man killed during gun attack in San Juan
A five-year-old boy was injured after shooters opened fire on the car he was in.
The incident came hours after three-year-old Nizam Owen was killed when shooters also opened fire on the car he was travelling in. Three other people were also shot dead in that incident.
Police said around 8.10 pm on Sunday, four people were in the car heading along Ryan Street, San Juan, when gunshots rang out.
Kofi Boucher, 41, of Prizgar Road, San Juan, died at the scene after being shot multiple times.
The survivors included a 33-year-old man, a 37-year-old woman, and a five-year-old boy – all of San Juan Street, San Juan.
The 33-year-old man who was shot in the right shoulder later drove to the San Juan Police Station, following which they were escorted to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex, Mt Hope.
The survivors were treated for minor injuries and discharged, while Boucher was pronounced dead.
Homicide Region II are continuing investigations.
