T&T: Businessman killed during robbery at his home

A 31-year-old businessman of Mason Hall, Tobago, was gunned down at his home on Monday night.
He was identified as Shervell Benoit. Benoit, police said, was the owner of a mini-mart and operator of a Lotto booth.
According to a police report, at about 9:36 pm on Monday 18 October, Benoit was at his Belmont Road home attempting to park his panel van in the garage when two masked men ran up to him and shot at him.
Police said before killing Benoit, the men had gained access into the house through an opened front door and demanded cash from relatives who were inside the house at the time.
Shevell Benoit is said to be the sixth murder victim recorded in Tobago for the year.
