T&T: Former PP minister is new TRHA chairman
Former Minister of Justice in the People’s Partnership Government Christlyn Moore has been appointed chairman of the Tobago Regional Health Authority (TRHA)
The Division of Health, Wellness and Social Protection (DHWSP) in the Tobago House of Assembly (THA) announced on Monday that the new TRHA board of directors received their instruments of appointment last Friday.
The DHWSP conducted a three-day board induction exercise with all stakeholders from Wednesday to Friday.
On day one, DHWSP Secretary Dr Faith B Yisrael presented on policy direction, health care in Tobago, governance and management of the TRHA.
Chief Executive Officer Simon Wiltshire presented the current position of the TRHA to the board, and executive managers presented their reports and challenges.
Administrator Denese Toby Quashie presented on reporting lines the role of the administrator as head accounting officer, public service regulations and the relationship between the Division of Health, Wellness and Social Protection and the TRHA.
The Division also indicated that the first formal board meeting of the board was held virtually on Friday with chairman Christlyn Moore.
The board will serve for two years.
