US House Committee on Ways and Means to visit Guyana

Members of the US House of Representatives Committee on Ways and Means are paying a visit to Guyana.

The congressional delegation (CODEL)Committee Chairman Congressman Jason Smith leads , includes Congresswoman Terri Sewell, Congresswoman Carol Miller, Congresswoman Michelle Fischbach, Congresswoman Beth Van Duyne, Congressman Mike Carey and Congressman Kelly Armstrong. 

The House Committee on Ways and Means is the oldest committee of the United States Congress and is the chief tax-writing committee in the House of Representatives.

“During their visit, the CODEL will meet with government officials and opposition leaders to discuss governance, economic matters, and the importance of bipartisan cooperation.  They will meet with prominent business leaders from the United States and Guyana to learn firsthand about Guyana’s exponential economic growth.  The CODEL visit seeks to further examine the bilateral and economic cooperation between the United States and Guyana,” the US Embassy in Georgetown said.
